Ray's visit

Friday December 12, 2008
We packed up early in the morning and headed out to the boat. The weather is bitter again. It was hard to say good-bye to my parents for six months so after they left we busied ourselves packing away all the supplies for the trip to the Bahamas. Fortunately my co-worker Ray and his family Liz and toddler Judah were vacationing in Daytona Beach and they arranged to come and visit us around 4:00 pm.
They arrive around 3:30 pm and Judah was squealing with glee to be on the boat and looking at all the big cruisers around us. Dick had put the dinghy in the water thinking this would be a big thrill for Judah but it actually put him to sleep. Ray and Liz took us out to get some dinner and we relaxed onboard with a cup of tea before they left.

Today was a rest. They had a lunch time meet and greet at the Marina we got to meet some other folks who are here full-time and monthly. Slept in the afternoon. Made egg salad for the party so finished it for supper. Received word today that Whippoorwill and Southern Cross are in Vero Beach, rafted on a ball and the weather does not sound any better that far south. Bandaris and Nice Butt are 20 miles south of them. Diane mentioned they will be in the US until after December 30. It is comforting to know the fleet is not to far out of our grasp.
