Fortunately the mooring basin is not that far from the dock. The chop is up and so we make minimal crossings to shore. After a shower to get pristine clean again, we headed out to view the shops and galleries that we were not able to see in November due to Thanksgiving and all the stores were closed.
Fernandina appears to be a busy tourist place and the shops are full of people. They have several huge Antique stores and you can spend hours in each one. There is so much to see. On the dock we meet Barb and Mike on board Nelleke 1 from Nova Scotia who are traveling north. We actually meet them in Whitaker Creek and they remember the Port Stanley gang. Barb asked us to go for a Ghost Walk which was put on by the Episcopalian Church at 6:00 pm that night. With the wind picking up we headed back to the boat, about the time we should be leaving the heavens opened and the rain started pouring and kept it up all night until early in the morning. The lightning (sheet) went on all night and with a bedroom hatch overhead it was very bright no matter what time you woke up to see if you had been hit with lightning yet. :)

When we got up and ready to head into church this morning we realized that all the motion on the dinghy for the past few days had broken one of the cleats on it. We got in and then realized that the gas line need a mini repair but our efforts were not in vain as we made it to the service two minutes before it started. When we got back to the dock we stopped by Nelleke 1 and had a visit with Mike and Barb. Today we checked out the stores on the other side of the street and had dinner at Germaros Italian Restaurant

Sounds like a good couple of days.Good to have a rerun at the sight of the Island. Snow here this morning again and it is windy too. Glad to hear you are playing it safe--will your Nova Scotia friends be heading out with you. Not long till you see grandbaby bet its hard to wait
