Back to New Smyrna

Thursday March 12, 2009

More grand weather to travel north to New Smyrna. We followed the GPS to our spot in the anchorage across from the Yacht club. We called Cousin Tom and Lutie they came to meet us for dinner. We went down to the beach front afterward and there was lots of people on the street as it is March Break. We went for a drive out to the Peninsula to see all the beautiful homes.
They dropped us off at the town dock and we ding hied back to the boat.

Palm Coast here we come -
Friday March 13, 2009
We motor sailed to a canal near the Cement Plant which was about 9 miles away from the Palm Coast. We anchored in about 7 feet of water. We had a dinner of chicken stew and rice and watched a movie.

We woke up to a foggy morning. The plan was to get the boat to Palm Coast Marina and meet with Mom and Dad Foster by noon to get a ride to their condo. We are going to be land lovers for a week. Mom and Dad arrived safely and we had lunch at the European Village and then headed out to Inverness. We are hoping this break will give some of our fellow boaters time to catch up to us.

Since we last saw you the circle is complete-- Palm Coast Marina back to Palm Coast Marina. Praise the Lord the journey was safe and a happy time. Nice weather here now--still a little chilly but sunny. St. Patricks tea a success and 1101 dollars plus 43 quilts for the Emergency centre. Have a good week--hi Claire and Shirley

Good Morning: What a beautiful morning here at Grand Bend. We just got back from walking along the lake. Icebanks haven't moved yet. Lots of white swans flying and honking. The sand was still frozen so it was easier walking. I am crocheting squares for an afghan...may be done in several months. It is something I can carry with me...not a huge project.
Glad you are back and journey was safe. You will be glad to be on your way home. Maybe you will sail to Bayfield sometime.
