We were back at Marsh Harbour and up early to listen to the Cruiser's Net. Winds were 20-25 knots out of the south east and that would make getting into Treasure Cay today somewhat of a disaster. So this was our dress rehearsal for the trip home. You decided where you are going and the weather fouls that plan so you just have to wait for a new opportunity. I was seriously wondering how I was going to do with all this as the desire to return home is very intense and the more frustrations to accomplish this will be interesting. For this day it was like a joke. Not even an issue. We cannot get through the Whale until Saturday so we will just be chillin today. We went up to the Gib Room to get some showers and stopped to check in with Steve on Searcher. He had crossed the Gulf with us and we were checking in to see when he would like to go back. As we were sitting in his cockpit we looked out the channel and a small sail boat was knocked down by a gust but did not right itself and immediately sank. Dick and Steve took off in our dinghy four horsepower. Needless to say by the time they got half way across the anchorage there were about 5 other dinghys with bigger engines assisting the poor guy.

Leaving to go to Treasure Cay
As we were lifting anchor George and Georgina from Agapi returned to Marsh Harbour and they have decided to do the whale with us and are planning to cross on the Gulf when the time comes. They have a grandchild coming to Disney World in Orlando so they want to get back to Florida early March. We are so grateful to have people to join us on those passages. The wind was a following sea and we were able to sail to Treasure Cay and we just ran the motor to charge our batteries :0) Treasure Cay is a beautiful community if you like condos and gated community type living. There is the most beautiful beach in the whole of the Abacos. Our mission today was to find the Treasure Cay Golf and County Club and get our dear friend Peter a score card. As we headed down the hot dry road to the golf course, walking, walking, walking and we were picked up by a golfer from Cleveland in a golf cart. He took us right up to the pro shop and told us to talk to Ronnie. Wow Ronnie had an amazing resemblance to Tiger Woods. We asked Ronnie if we could have or buy a score card and he of course was gracious enough to give it to us. Mission accomplished we headed back to the town to check out the stores. One of real interest to me was Bill's Canvas Company. Bill was in and sewing up a storm. He said he was running out of bags and had to stop his upholstery business to get some bags done. We finally were able to get to a post office (even though our postcards are on board) and I asked the woman on the desk how much to mail a letter to Canada and she said $.65 which is cheaper than the US $.72 The weather today was seasonable and days like today make it harder to head out.
