We set out on our next leg of the journey

Friday we left early for Ashtabula Ohio, as the wind was going to clock around  11:00 am to the nose so we wanted to get as far as we could under sail. AS it turned out we were sailing dead down wind so we motor sailed the whole way. It was clouding and overcast when we left but the sun came out and it was beautiful and refreshing to be underway again. We arrived in Ashtabula about 2:30 pm and received a warm-hearted welcome from the AYC members. We tied up near the power boaters and were invited to a Barbecue of beer, burgers and salads for 5.00! We are in! When we come here during the Lake Erie International we spend most of our time with other Sail boat folks, but this time we were with the power boaters. They all love Port Stanley and motor over on a regular basis. They all have clothes they bought there and being a resident of Port assured us almost celebrity status at the event. :)
Our plan is to spend the week-end here. There is a Steak and Corn Roast tonight. Dick ordered a camera from Staples and it is to be delivered next business day so we may go home and take it from there. One of the racers we know is planning a trip to Port so it will probably turn into a race.
We have Free Wifi again. Love America!

sounds like you are having a good trip in spite of colds. We are going to the cottage on Thursday till Saturday--got blueberries today and fresh corn for supper. Mom
