Up early and getting the last preparations done for the mast being taken down. At coffee break time they put us under the lift and had us down and on our way by 11:30 am. Out on the canal we only had about 10 minutes to wait for the test to see if it was done right. A power cruiser went screaming by and back and forth we rocked waiting to see what would happen. The weather had taken a break from raining and we had a leisurely ride down the Hudson River.
We had our first lock to practice in and it was somewhat awkward with our mast hanging over the stern about 15 feet. We arrived at Waterford about 5:00 pm. Waterford got its name because the Mohawk River has rocks in the river and you can walk across. When we arrived a gentleman sailor tied us up and he had a french accent and we recognized him from when we meet here on the way down and then later in Deltaville. There boat Argo 5 was at he end of the dock but I did not recognize it as it had the mast down. They are heading up canal to Lake Champlain and it is not open yet. When we walked down the dock to register we recognized another boat owner we meet in Palm Coast. We are out of groceries so headed out to get them.
One thing about here is everything is close. The dock with hydro is free for 2 days and they have wifi.
