Chapter two of Sander Man

Sander Man is back only this time he is painting the mast. By the time all the Masts got set up for painting there was no room for ours so we left it on the rack. It made a great saw horse.
This is the top of the mast which still needs a few things added for wind direction and speed.

Spring 2008 Cleanup

Here is Grace C. the day after Jeanette and Lori came to help wax. The new waterline is blue paint so no more peeling tape again. Thanks to all Richards hard work the saturday before we painted the stripe. The bottom paint is grey so I hope some whale doesn't think we are a mate. These shots were taken in the morning sun. It is getting harder and harder to go to work.

The Sander Man

The Sander Man has been busy of late.
In order to do this he has to fire up the generator. He can work as long as there is daylight. Hopefully this week-end it won't rain.
Remember the waterline tape story. Well that is just a kind of sticky residue that is on its final scrubing by Lacquer Thinners and yours truly.
P.S. I'd rather be sewing. :)

Grace C bound by the Snow

These pictures were taken a few week ago. Notice the blue and red waterline. Well that is actually tape and it is covering up the beautiful blue, yellow, orange coordinating boot stripe. Why do people do this to their boats? Anyway as we type Dick is attempting with propane torch in hand to soften the glue so it will peel off. He has already after a few days of working at it picked 1/3 of if off with a razor blade. Last night he tried it with no luck. I think it was too cold on the first day of April to make any head way. Anyway it is now quarter to eight and the Mac and Cheeze is waiting on the counter for his return.

The next job is the gray stuff on the bottom has to go. That is old anti-fouling paint and a barrier coat has to be applied before he can paint the new anti-fouling paint on. Most of the old paint was sprayed off in the fall with a hi-pressure washer. The new paint is white and will be safe for salt water. :)

The Bathroom Reno

One other upgrade for getting the house ready to be rented was redoing the fronthall bathroom. (closet size).
The wallpaper had been up since we moved in in the 80's
A friend at work recommended white or some shade of that might be wise.
