Elyssa and the Long Week-end

Elyssa came to visit on the Long week-end and the only boating we did was blow up the new Dinghy and put Elyssa in for a ride. The weather was unseasonable cold and very wet. Three days of Rain.

Back at the Dock

Back at the end dock a the Sailing Squadron and awaiting her sails. The engine repairs and check took a little longer and so it was Launched on May 3, 2008 and did not get her shake down sail until May 23, 2008. It was a brief encounter. Weather permitting Sunday was a lovely day to check things out. All the lockers are painted now and the sole is the next job. Dick is sanding and refinishing.

May 24 Garage Sale

The weather cooperated and we had a sunny warm and dry day to hold our first ever garage sale. The whole town was in on the act so we joined in with our neighbours and held a block long sale. It was fun and we got to see a lot of old neighbours and friends. The whole ordeal made us around $100.oo so we are not planning to give up our day job.

More Postings from Launch

The motor did not start right away. One of the men at the Yacht Club offered to tow us back to our dock so we could get out of the way of the crane trying to get other boats in the water. By the time we got to the Bridge the motor was jugging along and we tied up and let it idle.

Launch Day 2008

Launch day finally arrived after a very long cold winter. The weather on May 3, 2008 was cool and rainy. We were the second boat to Launch and practically the last mast to be put up. These photo's were taken by Paul our webmaster at the Port Stanley Sailing Squadron.

The Name and Companion

When I went down to take Grace's picture tonight our companion Tony was finishing his bottom paint. He and Diane are travelling south with us in September.

Chapter two of Sander Man

Sander Man is back only this time he is painting the mast. By the time all the Masts got set up for painting there was no room for ours so we left it on the rack. It made a great saw horse.
This is the top of the mast which still needs a few things added for wind direction and speed.
